The Art of Looking! - 2 - 4 day class. New in 2006
Where do ideas come from? Everything around us are colours and forms that can be used as inspiration for creative work - its all about looking - being able to discover it all. Most of us have a digital camera and we use this in the hunt for ideas and inspiration. The students will work in small groups when going out to take photos, so its no need for everyone to have their own camera. The basics of digital photography will be taught in class and students will get practical exercises in compositions and colour theory.
The pictures will be processed further on and we will make collages in textile or/and paper based on the pictures and the ideas and associations the images gives us. These works can be pieces of art or just a sketch for something you might be working on in the future. This is not a photo transfer class. The rust quilt below is a typical excample of the working method for this class.
For a 2 day class we work with images and sketches only, without sewing machine.
For a 4 day class we also use the sketches to make textile collages and do textile printing an painting. |
